Overview:

The content folder contains the pages of your site in an easy to use folder layout view.  From here, you can view the pages of your site. From the content folder, you can add content, add folders, or specify the navigation order.

                       

From the content folder, you can add content, add folders, or specify the navigation order as indicated by the tabular menu shown below.

Adding Content:

To add content inside the contents folder, simply click the "Add Content" option on the menu bar.

 

You will be taken to the editing screen. 

 

 

Adding a Folder:

To add a folder inside the contents folder, simply click the "Add Folder" option on the tabular menu. 

The following menu will appear:

Folder Order: If dynamic navbar, then it will dictate the order of navbar

Folder Parent: If it exists, it is the parent folder that the folder that is being created is a sub folder of. 

 

 

 

Navigation Order:

 

The Nav Order tabular menu option allows you to dictate the order in which the folders and content are displayed. The lowest order is zero, and it goes in a positive direction from there. The order of the contents of a dynamic navbar can be changed using the nav order option. The order works left to right, and top to bottom. Therefore, content with a nav order of zero will be on the far left, and those with subsequent positive nav orders will be displayed to the right of the zero order content. Also, content with a nav order of zero will be displayed on top, with all subsequent positive nav order content displayed below it. 

 

Folder Properties:

To access the properties for a folder, simply left click the desired folder. The tabular menu shown below will appear. Click the properties tab. 

Folder Name: The name that the folder was given when it was created. 

Folder Type: The type of folder that the selected folder was created as. It can   be a menu or non menu folder. From this screen it is possible to change the folder type if desired. To change the folder type, click the change button associated with the folder type. The screen will change and look like the following.

           

           

            

Associated Content:

If this is a dynamic navbar, this is the content which gets loaded in when the user clicks on the navbar element.

Folder Order:

This is the navigation order of the folder. This shows in what order the content will appear

Created By: The user in the system who created the folder.

Created: The date the folder was created.

Owner: The owner of the content. The owner of the content is responsible for  approving and releasing the content. No revisions can be released without first being approved by the content owner. To Change the owner of the content, click the "Change Owner" button. The following screen will appear.

          

To change the owner of the content, click inside the radio button located to the right of the user that is desired to be the owner of the content. Once a user is selected, click the "Update" button to apply the change. That user will then be the owner of the content.

Location:  The parent folder in which this is a sub-folder of.

 

Once the contents folder has content saved inside it, you can click the "+" symbol, which is located to the left of the content folder, to view the contents of the folder. The "+" symbol will change to a "-" symbol as indicated below and the contents of the folder can be viewed.

                   

 

Once content has been selected (i.e "page1" was selected from the example above) the tabular menu will change to represent the options that can be performed on saved content. The tabular menu shown below is what will be seen.

   

 

Preview:

Preview is the default menu option that will load after the named content is selected. In preview mode, the page will be seen exactly as it will be shown on the internet in a web browser. It will be shown in a read only format and cannot be edited. If you wish to edit the content, click the edit option on the tabular menu.

Properties:

Underneath the properties tab, information for the selected content page can  be updated.

        

Name: The file name given to the content when it was saved

Created By: The user who created the content

Date Created: The date the content was first created and saved for the first time.

Last Modified: The most recent time that the content was accessed and                     saved.

Last Modified By: The user who last accessed and saved the content

Last Access: The most recent time that the content was accessed.

Approved: Indicates whether the content has been approved by it's owner

Approved By: The owner of the content who approved it.

Release Date: The date that the content has been or will be released to                    the web.

Content Type: If the content has a form located on the page, then it will                   be classified as a form content type. If the page has no form, then it is                       classified as just plain content. 

Template: The template that is associated with the content. There does                    not have to be a template associated with the content, but if there is a                       template associated with the content, then it will be displayed here.

Title: The text that is displayed inside the title bar of the web browser.

Description: Text that is entered here will be put into the                                         metadata of the page and can be viewed by search engines.

KeyWords: The keywords will go into the metadata of the page and will assist in search engine finding your site. It is advisable to make to make these as descriptive as possible to maximize the number of hits to your site. 

Aged Date: the date that the content is old and is in need of updating.

Locked: If content is locked, then only the owner can manipulate the                        content. No other users can perform any actions on the content if it is                         locked.

Index: If this is checked, then this page will be the first page that is loaded when someone visits your site. For example, it will be what the web user sees when they go to yoursite.com.

Change Owner Button: Changing Owners

Location: The parent folder in which this is a sub-folder of.

Move Content Button: This button allows content to be easily moved from one folder to another. To move the content, simply click on the folder where you                          you would like the content to be moved to. Once you have done that,                          the "Move Folder To" text at the top of the page will change to                                   represent your move to folder location. To apply the move, simply                               click the "move button".

                

Remove Content Button:

This button will allow for the selected content to be removed. It will                           delete the selected page. To delete the page, click the remove                                   content button. The following message box will appear:

                        

To confirm the delete, click the "OK" button. If you do not want to                              delete the page, click "Cancel".

Apply Button: Applys and saves the changes that you have made in the                     properties window.

 

Schedule: Scheduling Releases

 

Revision:

        Underneath the "Revisions" tab, all revisions can be previewed, edited, and released.

 

Release: To release a revision, click the "Release" button. This will make the selected revision the active revision. After the button is clicked, it will make it the active revision, and you will be taken to the preview window where the page can be viewed as it will been seen on the internet in a web browser. 

Edit: To edit a revision, click the "Edit" button. This will take you to the editing window where changes to the revision can be made.

Preview: To preview a revision, click the "Preview" button. This will take you to preview window where the page can be viewed as it will been seen on the internet in a web browser.

                

 

Permissions:  

    

All users that are approved to view the content of the selected page will be shown in the box on the left. To add a user click the "Add" button.

All users will be shown when the pop up box appears. To add a user, simply click inside the check box loacted to the right of the user that you would like to add. You can add a single user or multiple users at the same time. When all users that you wish to add have been selected, click the "Add Checked" button. 

 

To delete a user from having permissions on this content, select the user that you would like to delete by clicking on the user. The user's name will then be displayed, as indicated by the red arrow below. That will then be your selected user. To delete that selected user, click the "Remove" button.
